Do I need a 'For Sale' sign on my property?
Some sellers are worried about their neighbours knowing that they are on the market.
The reality of the situation is: If your neighbours care they will be following the market. And if your neighbours aren’t following the market, they aren’t going to be too bothered whether they see a sign or not. So you just need to do what is the best thing for you.
We will still get calls solely from signs. Often times that’s from secret admirers so maybe somebody in the street, somebody that drives passed it when they drop the kids off etc. They will ring us to get information as soon as the sign goes up.
Another important point is that most buyers will see the property advertised online, and then they will take a drive passed. So when your house is on the market you will notice that at night you will get cars slowing down out the front of your house as they scope it out a little bit and check out the neighbourhood.
The sign just helps them. It doesn’t increase it, they are going to do it anyway so we may as well have the sign there and make it a little bit easier for them to fall in love with your home.
I strongly recommend to all my sellers in Alexandra Hills and the Redlands that they have a sign on their property. And that sign should be the largest and highest quality available.
